Teamwork and Color Models

Creating better attitudes and positive outcomes

Color number (0)

Gray - Auxiliary Color

Gray is free from any stimulus as well as any psychological tenancies. Gray is no-man-land, uncommitted, and uninvolved. Gray contains the pronounced element of concealment.

Color number (1)

Dark Blue - Basic Color

Blue is the chromatic representation of the basic physiological need for tranquility and relaxation. Blue is the representation of the bond that a person draws around ones self and the depth of feeling.

Color number (2)

Green - Basic Color

A person who typically chooses green as a color wants to increase the certainty of his or her own value. They will have an unyielding image of themselves that they will work to maintain. The greater the wealth, physical, or educational achievement in life, the greater the sense of accomplishment a green personality will feel.

Color number (3)

Red - Basic Color

Egocentric by nature and know for their compulsions, red personalities are the life of the party and the office, living life to the fullest. The red personality ignites the human spirit and is born to lead.

Color number (4)

Yellow - Basic Color

A yellow personality is represented by relaxation and the expectation of happiness. Whatever the goals a yellow personality may have the outcome will be an ordered motion forwards to a perfect and harmonious outcome. Yellow presses forward towards the new, the unexplored, and greatest harmonious experiences that life can offer.

Color number (5)

Violet - Auxiliary Color

Violet is a mixture of red and dark blue although it still remains its own color. Violet contains the impulsive conquests of the red personality with the gentle surrender of dark blue. Violet is the state of being enthralled by ones self and at the same time wanting to charm and delight others. Violet is erotic, sensitive, and understanding.

Color number (6)

Brown - Auxiliary Color

Brown is the darkened shade of yellow and red. Brown is the no longer active or effective attribute of red. Although indifferent, brown is still passively receptive and sensory. Brown is not at ease in life, as it has no roots on which to stand. Brown is physical discomfort with little prospect of prosperity.

Color number (7)

Black - Auxiliary Color

Black is the darkest color and in fact it is the negative of color itself. Black is the absolute boundary where life ends. Black is ultimate surrender and has as strong effect on any color close to it. Black is the renouncement to life armed with compensatory behaviors.

A Deeper Look Into Max Luscher's
Color Diagnostics Page 1

Prof. Dr. Max Luscher is the creator of The Luscher Color Diagnostic® test measures a person's psychophysical state, his or her ability to withstand stress, to perform, and to communicate. Dr. Luscher is the Head of the Institute of Psycho-medical Diagnostics in Lucerne, Switzerland. The Luscher Color Diagnostic has been in clinical use since 1947, and has been translated into 27 languages.

The Luscher Color Diagnostic® test measures a persons ability to withstand stress, to perform, and to communicate. It uncovers the cause of psychological stress, which can lead to physical symptoms. Because the color selections are guided in an unconscious manner, they reveal the person as he or she really is, and not as he or she perceives his or herself.

Color choices and our personalities

A person's choice of color is reflective of their personality, to measure this an interviewee is asked to choose from eight colored cards from first color choice to last. Each card is numbered and depending on the order can have a variety of outcomes, which is dependent on the preference and the rejection colors. An interesting fact is that this is actually about the shade of color not the color itself, so if you are colorblind the results should be the same.

Color choices are divided between + (Strong Preference to a color), X (Preference to a color), = (Indifference to a color), and - (Antipathy or rejection of a color) see sidebar for color definitions.

How I am using this information

This is a deeper subject than I have time to get into and is off topic as the subject of this website is teamwork. I am using the Luscher Color Diagnostic® test as a means to get information. Please feel free to delve deeper into the subject on your own, it is a fascinating theory.

The version that I am using here is the stripped down 8-color test, the official test consists of 64 color choices and is truly complex offering deep results.

What I will be using is the basic colors, dark blue, green, yellow and red. The auxiliary colors, gray, violet, brown and black are use to deepen the results.

There is a nice online versionwhere you can get a general color diagnostic result, but for a real analysis the actual Luscher Color Diagnostic® test is far superior.
